Our Story
Behind the Scenes
Troop 3 is the oldest, continuosly run Boy Scout Troop on Long Island. We were first chartered in September of 1910 as BSA Troop 1 Smithtown, New York.
Troop 3 is sponsored by American Legion Post 833 JAMES ELY MILLER
Our troop meetings are held every Tuesday evening from 7:30pm to 8:30pm at:
Forest Brook Elementary School

We are part of the Boy Scouts of America. Locally, we are part of the Suffolk Council and the Matinecock District.
Activities:
Weekly meetings September thru June
Outdoor activity - once per month
Summer camp - one week each summer
High Adventure Trips
Participate in Matinecock District Polar Bear
Court of Honor ceremonies 4 times per year
Annual Flower Sales
Troop committee monthly meetings - every 1st Thursday
Scouting for Food
Service projects
